| Damiana Herb |
 |
| (turnera aphrodisiaca) |
 |
Origin: Mexico
Form: Cut and Sifted
Uses: Visions and dreams concerning love and lust, intuition, desire and attraction
Associations: Moon
Aroma: mildly hemp-like, with fall leaves and a hint of subtle spice
Damiana is considered a strong aphrodisiac, and indeed medicinally it acts directly on the reproductive organs. Because of this many have associated this herb with Venus. It's ability to give communication in dreams about matters of love and lust have led others to consider it a Mercurial plant.
However since Damiana affects the sexual organs directly, and induces nostalgia and very mild dream-like states and euphoria, it shows its true Lunar nature. Mercury is always rapid, uplifting, quick, symbolic and lucid in its dreams, while the dreams of a Lunar nature are equally vivid but also emotional, euphoric, associative, experiential and intuitive. |
