The Goddess Nike is the personification of Victory in Battle and competition. The daughter of the Titan Pallas and Styx, she was honored by Zeus when she fought against the Titans on the side of the Gods of Olympus. She stands next to Zeus in Olympus and judges the award of "areta" or "virtue" to Gods and men. She is often depicted with Athena, especially in her hand. She sometimes holds a caduceus wand or staff and can be seen with two wings, four wings or no wings at all. She often appears flying or hovering while offering libations and trophies after great battles or competitions.
