White Willow has long been used as a healing herb, and the Ancient Egyptians indeed used it to treat pain and inflammation. It was also used by the Greeks, in the Far East, and by Native Americans. Willow contains tannin as its chief constituent, and also a small quantity of salicin which gives it its aspirin-like properties. |
