|Zeus Enthroned Statue (Jupiter)|
|12 inches tall, 6 inches wide|
|Zeus (Roman Jupiter) is the sky and storm God of Greece whose symbols include the Thunderbolt, the Mountaintop and the Eagle. He is the King and Patriarchal Father of all of the Gods of Mount Olympus who is not a tyrant, but rather establishes and maintains cosmic order and justice. His many epithets include "cloud-gatherer", "thunder god", and "he who comes down".
Zeus deposed his father Chronos (Roman Saturn) and the Titans to establish a new order and reign, dividing the world equally amongst himself and his two brothers. Zeus became ruler of the land and the world of humans, Poseidon (Roman Neptune) became the ruler of the oceans and all things in them, while Pluto) became the ruler of the Underworld and all things there.
Zeus often manifests his will in the sounds of the Holy Oak Tree sacred to him, and by the flight of doves, whose patterns are interpreted in divination (the art of reading of divine signs). He is a grand protector of Kings who remain just, but also of wanderers and beggars. Zeus is also the protector of families and household property. The main wife of Zeus is Hera, and he fostered many of the Greek Gods, including Athena, Apollo and Aphrodite.
