Arjuna is used in Ayurveda as a treatment for heart disease, treatment of wounds, hemorrhages and ulcers. It is traditionally prepared as a milk decoction or applied topically as a powder. In studies with mice, its leaves have been shown to have analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties, as well as the ability to dilates blood vessels and thins the blood.
