The Luffa/Loofah Gourd produces fruits that are 12-18” long. Edible when picked young but when the fruits are dried and seeded they are used to make durable sponges. Harvest in as little as 100 days.

PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS: Sow seeds in well-drained soil in a sunny location after the threat of the last frost has passed. Plant 2-3 seeds about 1" deep and space plants 3-6' apart in all directions. Best when planted against a trellis, lattice, chain-link fence or other type of support so that the vines can climb and the fruit can hang.  Or start seeds early indoors in pots and transplant outdoors after all danger of frost has passed.
