At Soma Luna we take great pride in the candles we make and our candles have been satisfying customers for many years! Here are some common questions that we get asked, all the time.
How long have you been making candles?
We started making candles in 2001.
Are your candles the same color all the way through?
Yes. Unlike some candle makers, we do not cut corners with our candles. We love making the richest color candles you can find, anywhere. Our black is a true, absolute black all the way through with no purple tint.
How accurate are the colors in your pictures online?
We strive to make the pictures as accurate as possible with the technology available - but remember that your monitor may be set differently than ours. Your brightness, contrast, and color settings may completely change the way the pictures of the candles look on your end. As always, if you are unsure about the color of a candle you want to purchase call us. We will be happy to help!
Are your candles smokeless or dripless?
Our candles use wicks which are rated to reduce or eliminate smoke while burning and are considered smokeless. Some smoking will occur briefly however, when the candles is extinguished. Our pillar, tealight and taper candles are dripless, but you should keep in mind a few things. Our candles should not be placed close to the ceiling, or on bookshelves close under the next shelf. While it is not common, our candles will sometimes drip like normal candles too, so use common sense when choosing where to burn your candles. Air flow matters. Our pillars will not drip much at all, depending on how you burn them. Our tapers do not drip much, but we can not promise they will be "dripless" - especially after they burn more than half way down. Our votives will definitely drip, every time. Our floaters do not drip when floating in water, of course. Use candle plates and protective accessories if you are worried about dripping candle wax.
How long will your candles burn?
Many candle manufacturers exaggerate their candle burning times, or give you times like "if you burn them for only 2 hours at a time, for 7 days, then they are 7 day candles". Also, candle times are usually given in a way that assumes they will be burned inside of a container (this is especially true for votives). Burning a candle in a container greatly increases the burn time. Below are our candle burning times. These are the honest average times it took for our candles to burn from the moment we lit them, until they went out.
Why don't you offer scented candles?
We have many new exotic scented candles in the works. Check back soon.
What kind of wax and wick do you use?
We use standard Paraffincandle wax in our candles and 100% cotton wick which are lead-free.
Do you sell your candles wholesale to stores, wedding planners and retailers?
We do not offer wholesale at this time.
