Tibetan Four-sided Dorje, small
3.5 inches wide
This Small Tibetan Four-sided Dorje is made of brass with a shiny finish. Dorje is a Sanskrit word meaning both diamond and thunderbolt. The diamond is a symbol of something that can cut any substance but not itself be cut and the thunderbolt represents irresistible force. Therefore the Dorje is believed to represent firmness of spirit and spiritual power. The Dorje is symbolically used by Buddhism, Jainism and Hinduism, and historically it spread along with Indian religion and culture to other parts of Asia. It was used as both a weapon and a symbol in Nepal, India, Tibet, Bhutan, Siam, Cambodia, Myanmar, China, Korea and Japan.
Often the Dorje is used with the Tibetan bell. The bell represents wisdom and the feminine aspect of the divine while the Dorje represents the creative and forceful male energy. During ceremonies and rituals the bell is held in the left hand while the Dorje is in your right hand. As the sound of the bell resonates the bell and Dorje balance the negative with the positive to harmonize ones life and surroundings. These items are also used for space clearing in Feng Shui.
This Small Tibetan Four-sided Dorje measures around 3.5 inches wide.
